WOMEN LEADING THE WAY TO ENVIRONMENTAL AND GENDER JUSTICE: IMPACT REPORT 2024/2025
“The challenges we face in terms of the climate crisis, growing inequality, political polarisation, war and genocide are huge, but so is our hope. Real change comes when women and communities lead. Together, we can build a greener, fairer future rooted in justice.”
A letter from our Co-Directors, Kate Metcalf and Zarina Ahmad.

We are proud to share a snapshot of what we achieved between March 2024 and March 2025. For over three decades, Wen has been at the forefront of environmental justice, championing a gender-sensitive and intersectional feminist approach long before it was widely recognised. Our work has consistently centred women’s voices and perspectives, challenging systems that often overlook them.
“Together we demonstrate that environmental justice, gender justice and racial justice are inseparable, and that women are shaping solutions every day.” – Kate Metcalf and Zarina Ahmad, Co‑Directors

OUR IMPACT IS LINKED TO OUR SIX PRIORITIES
INFLUENCING THE AGENDA
Wen, together with our partners, is part of a powerful and growing movement that challenges who gets to speak, what knowledge is valued, and how systemic change is made. From Parliament to public discourse, we’re pushing gender, racial, environmental and social justice to the top of the agenda, and centering the lived experiences of those most impacted by injustice.
