Wen is working with partners to advocate for a Feminist Green New Deal that places gender, racial and social equity at the heart of plans to transition to a green economy. The Feminist Green New Deal aims to ensure that efforts to address environmental challenges are inclusive and just for all communities.
The Feminist Green New Deal is a bold vision for tackling the climate crisis while addressing systemic inequalities. It centres the voices of women, particularly those from marginalised and racialised communities, in shaping a green, caring economy that works for people and the planet.

feminist green new deal uk
This project in partnership with the Women’s Budget Group (WBG), and funded by Friends Provident Foundation, ensures that the voices of women, particularly racialised and marginalised women, are part of environmental debates. The project aims to encourage women’s organisations to engage with environmental issues and for the environmental sector to incorporate a gendered approach to their work. This exciting project involves grassroots workshops, policy roundtables, discussion papers and policy papers.

feminist green new deal workshops
A series of grassroots Feminist Green New Deal workshops across the UK ensured participation from voices often not included in decision making. Women’s ideas, thoughts and concerns around the green recovery were gathered and fed into the Green Caring Economy final report.
