What is Mensy?
The Mensy project is aimed at addressing menstrual equity and sustainability through youth education.
We believe menstruation is not only a human right but a public health issue, with education around menstruation being too little and too late, often delivered after many young people have started their period. to Join us to create a future for periods which is sustainable and toxic free!
What the training will cover
The workshop will explore menstrual equity and help increase familiarity with the use and care of sustainable and washable/reusable period products while highlighting the benefits for our health and environment.
We believe that sustainable, and reusable menstrual products can play a role in alleviating period poverty while education around menstruation will address period equity. The Mensy project aims to increase confidence in tackling menstrual stigma and taboos experience by young people, women, girls and all those who menstruate.
What’s included
Everyone who attends a workshop will receive a unique project demonstration Mensy toolkit, full of examples of the range of washable/reusable period products and single use organic disposables. A free training manual and resources will be provided to help replicate the workshop. A delicious free lunch will be provided by Open Kitchen.
Workshop dates:
In person training on the 14 the June 2025 11 – 4 pm @ the Coal Store at the People’s Museum Manchester.
Who’s funding work?
The project is financed from the ERASMUS plus program (Programme Erasmus+ Action Type KA220-ADU – Cooperation partnerships in the field of youth) under the leadership of Leargas, the Irish national agency.
