Wen is excited to have secured a grant from City Bridge Trust, through the Propel initiative.
The three year funding, which started in April 2023, will enable Wen to continue its successful Climate Sisters programme – giving the opportunity to over 100 women in East London to take part in the Feminist Climate Leadership programme. Participants will be paid for their time and receive support for childcare.
Climate Sisters was initiated as part of the Feminist Green New Deal, giving a voice to marginalised women in climate debates.
About Propel
Propel is a long-term funding collaboration that will, over the next ten years, give the capital’s civil society and communities the flexibility, trust and capacity to make long-term, systemic change in London.
Propel is about prioritising the communities who experience structural inequality and the civil society groups who are best placed to make change happen to explore, develop, and lead collaborative approaches that tackle some of London’s biggest issues.
Propel is powered by London Funders and are being supported by a growing list of funders, including Bloomberg, City Bridge Trust – the City of London Corporation’s charity funder – The National Lottery Community Fund, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and main advice funders, such as Trust for London, coordinated by London Legal Support Trust. More information about the Propel collaboration is available here.
