We are deeply concerned by the escalation of violence in the occupied Palestinian territory of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and Israel. This has resulted in an unacceptable loss of life — and we urge all parties, including the international community to work to stop the bloodshed and work towards a lasting peace for Palestinians and Israelis. We call for an immediate ceasefire, the release of anyone held captive and an end to the blockade of Gaza.
The UK Government should not support the Israeli government to act with impunity and accelerate its ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people, destroying homes, schools and hospitals as it bombards the Gaza Strip.
