Women's Climate Action
Wen has led the movement in the UK to recognise that the climate crisis affects women and marginalised groups in different ways.
Wen, together with The Women’s Budget Group, WEDO and CEMVO Scotland, plan to launch a UK Feminist Green New Deal Set of Principles and a Feminist Green New Deal Policy Paper which will be launched at the Wen Forum at COP26 in November 2020. We are advocating for an intersectional feminist approach to the climate crisis.
A programme of events exploring environmental issues through a feminist lens. These popular forums take place quarterly and include speaker panel, Q&A session, networking, stalls and refreshments. Previous topics have included harmful chemicals, food, climate change, periods and air quality.
Women’s Voices is a paid internship programme intended to increase the diversity of voices in the environmental movement. The programme hopes to bring a greater diversity of voices in to the environmental mainstream. It also aims to increase the involvement of under-represented groups – particularly Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) women- in environmental forums.
