With one in four people experiencing a significant mental health problem every year and with the increasing demand on mental health services, alternative approaches are needed. Nature can play an important role in mental health, reducing depression, anxiety and stress.

Soil Sisters project is a year round programme of weekly sessions, in women’s refuges in East London, These sessions promote positive mental health and wellbeing through therapeutic gardening, food growing and cooking.
Our workshops at Limborough Food Hub explore in a practical way, how our diet and lifestyles has an impact on the planet. Attendees learn and try new plant based recipes, spend time in the community garden and enjoy a delicious lunch. These courses aim to grow community cohesion, sustain equal rights and open possibilities for residents living in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
