We really hope you are all keeping safe and well.  We know you will have been hearing a lot about COVID-19 (Corona) over the last few weeks with things escalating by the hour. We wanted to let you know how we are responding to this unprecedented situation.

We are taking action to prioritise the safety of our staff and everyone we work with and to play our role in trying to slow the spread of the virus and reduce the pressure on our public services.  This means that some of the work we had planned this spring will be delayed. But rest assured we are working behind the scenes to continue Wen’s important work.

We are of course concerned about the people and groups that we work with in East London and are looking at ways to mitigate any impact that these measures may have.

The Wen team are also looking at ways to help out in their own local communities.

We know at this time that women in particular will be at their most stretched – with caring responsibilities for family, children and elderly relatives, in addition to juggling paid work.

Over the next few weeks we will be sharing ideas and news of proactive community activities that are taking place on social media, via blogs and through our newsletter.   Please get in touch if you have any updates or ideas too to share within the Wen community.

Warm wishes

Kate Metcalf & Beth Summers, Co-directors, Wen
