What WEN wants for women and health

  • WEN wants to see women as equal participants and consultants in all policies and practices that affect their general and reproductive health.
  • WEN wants women's experience and knowledge about issues to do with their environment and occupational health to be viewed as a valid and valuable resource base from which to initiate official and statistical research.
  • WEN wants to see local communities initiate and become active participants in research into sources of pollution affecting health in their communities.
  • WEN wants to see further analysis of the breast cancer "clusters" identified in this project, in association with other environmental and occupational health effects linked to pollutants.
  • WEN wants to see more support for people campaigning on health and environment issues, whether in the workplace or where they live.
  • WEN wants to see greater recognition of networks as a means of liaising between groups, sharing information and providing support systems at both at local and national levels.
  • WEN wants to encourage women to contribute to changing the public view of breast cancer as an out-of-control disease to seeing breast cancer as a largely preventable disease.
