Black Environment Network

Membership organisation that focuses on encouraging ethnic community groups in the UK to be more involved in environmentally sustainable issues and projects. Produces newsletters and hosts a bimonthly networking conference.

Council for Environmental Education
Following the removal of core funding from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, all CEE staff were made redundant on 30 September 2005 and its offices are now closed. Their website still contains useful information and links to other environmental education sites.

Global Action Plan runs Action for Schools, an environmental programme that helps the whole school community to go green and save money. It is curriculum linked for key stages three and four and is recognised by the United Nations.

Groundwork UK

Groundwork education programmes promote learning, citizenship and sustainability. Work with schools illustrates how individual actions can make a big difference to our immediate surroundings and the global environment. It is often the starting point for larger regeneration projects. Themes include: energy, waste, school grounds, water and transport.

Hillcroft College
Hillcroft is the only college for women within the adult residential sector in the UK. It exists to help women who have not previously been able to fulfil their potential through learning and is open to women aged 19 or over. There are no entrance qualifications and grants are available to cover costs for most students.

National Association for Environmental Education
A registered charity, set up nearly 40 years ago by a group of teachers and teacher trainers to support the teaching of environmental education in nurseries, schools and other educational institutions. Services extend to all those concerned with any aspect of education and the natural or built environment.
