Find
a home for unwanted Christmas presents
The
turkey’s eaten, the guests are gone but what can you do with all
those unwanted Christmas presents?
Take them to the New Year Give or Take Day organised by SW London Women’s
Environmental Network with support from Wandsworth Borough Council.
Books, toys, CDs, clothes, kitchenware…in fact any household items
in good condition can be taken to St Paul’s Community Centre,
Inner Park Road (near the junction with Augustus Road) SW19 between
10am and 12 noon on Saturday 15 January 2005.
Your unwanted present could be the perfect gift for someone else. And
you might find that longed-for item you didn’t get for Christmas.
If you don’t have anything to bring, come and have a look –
you might find something useful to take away.
Over the festive season about 10 percent more rubbish than usual is
produced. Most can be re-used or recycled. The Give or Take Day is WEN’s
way of making sure goods don’t go to waste. Electrical items or
large items of furniture can’t be accepted.
The event is free and open to all-comers.
