REAL NAPPY WEEK SHOWS OFF - support reaches record levels Real Nappy Week - 7th to 13th April 2003 - is backed by over half the UK local authorities (225) along with 72 MPs and many other organisations to reach a record level of support for this pioneering waste prevention campaign. The Week is jointly organised by Women's Environmental Network and the Real Nappy Association focusing attention on the environmental impacts of disposable nappies and promoting fair choice for UK parents. Showing off the real choice that cloth nappies offer to parents, there will be nappy displays throughout the UK during Real Nappy Week. The Real Nappy Collection which will be on show at the Greater London Assembly (GLA) is the most comprehensive. The collection of over 100 nappies has been built up over 40 years by Gina Purrmann, founder of the Real Nappy Association. This display is full of surprises including a leather and moss Alaskan Eskimo nappy. Cloth nappies are set to become the new baby fashion statement, with fabrics ranging from traditional white and pastel patterns to day-glo colours and leopard print. Flat, easy-dry and economic nappies, modern shaped and fitted, organic, unbleached, Velcro or popper fastening and all-in-ones - the choice is extensive. And it doesn't end there, you then have the choice of whether to wash your own or use a laundry service Real nappy
displays will be held in the following locations. For further
