Real Nappy Schemes -
Promoting Waste Prevention Through Partnership

This index has been compiled with the generous co-operation of the many organisations involved in real nappy partnerships. WEN would like to thank everyone who participated in its creation. The information published has been provided by the 'partnerships' and there are not yet any national standard methods for information gathering and calculations. Publication here does not imply endorsement by WEN of any particular methodology.

If you are actively promoting real nappies in partnership with another organisation and would like your scheme to be included in our index please e-mail nappies@wen.org.uk

Scheme: Worcester Health Visitors Sample Packs: Sample Packs have been delivered to Health Visitor bases throughout
Worcester City. The comprehensive pack contains a range of reusable nappies. Depending on the success of this initiative,
it is the intention of Worcestershire County Council to roll similar schemes to other health visitor centres and midwives
across the county during 2004.

Worcester City Real Nappy Trial:
100 participants are to receive a free introduction pack worth £70, containing different brands and systems of real nappies.
This is an opportunity for parents to trial various types of nappies without buying a complete set.
In return, participants are asked to provide regular feedback on their use of the real nappies in the introduction pack. The
information will be used by the County Council as baseline data for futrue promotion of real nappies.
