Notes Scheme: The company was set up as a not for profit one in 1996 to promote the return of cotton by the introduction of a nappy delivery, collection and laundry service. The aim is to cater to the masses rather than the select few by offering a comprehensive service. Initial trials were successful and demand for the service was high. Endorsements were sought from health professionals and care providers who showed a keen interest in the service. The system is run as a cooperative. The service includes provision of prefolds, wraps, liners, bin liner, weekly delivery and collection and help and advice. Weekly service costs £6.00. Future plans: to provide organic cotton products to our customers. Research is currently underway to produce a new wrap for hospital use. This will eliminate the need to launder wraps during the early days after baby arrives. |
