This index has been compiled with the generous co-operation of the many organisations involved in real nappy partnerships. WEN would like to thank everyone who participated in its creation. The information published has been provided by the 'partnerships' and there are not yet any national standard methods for information gathering and calculations. Publication here does not imply endorsement by WEN of any particular methodology. If you are actively promoting real nappies in partnership with another organisation and would like your scheme to be included in our index please e-mail nappies@wen.org.uk |

Notes Funding: Waste minimisation budgets of the three waste disposal authorities of Dorset; sponsorship from SITA (waste management company). This campaign targeted health visitors in 2001 with information packs, used widely as a teaching resource for ante-natal classes, and health professional packs. A follow-up questionnaire was sent out to all health professionals showing how well used the packs are, plus highlighting opportunities to improve it. A roadshow caravan toured the county to promote real nappies during RNW 2002. Discussions are underway with Cotton Bottoms and local maternity hospitals to instigate a switch to using real nappies in hospital with an associated laundry service provided free of charge. An agreement has been reached with Bournemouth University to provide Dorset Recycling Group 'real nappy' information as part of the Midwifery course. |
